Description
Sturdy bevel edged chisel in large 1 1/4″ 32mm size. Quite a bit of pitting in this one including some on the underside. Love the burl appearance of the wood (even though I’m not sure whether it’s burl or age and damage). Reinforcing ring has been replaced with a steel one.
Plenty of steel left with the blade measuring over 11cm of full 32mm width chisel. Full length of chisel is over 10.5″ or 27cm. Edge has been hollow ground with a secondary bevel applied. Edge currently looks good with no pitting currently impacting the cutting edge, but some pitting will be evident within a mm of sharpening.
Marked on the reverse side Erik Anton Berg Eskilstuna Sweden and 1 1/4″ 32mm on the top. A nice looking chisel which could make a good user, but sharpening it may be occasionally frustrated by pitting, unless you want to regrind the back.
