Condition Note:
We gave this plane a light workshop clean to preserve its authentic patina. Consequently, the rosewood infills fit snugly in the casting with no shrinkage gaps. Meanwhile, the sole and sides remain flat and clean, showing only minimal, honest age marks.
The depth adjuster’s brass knob lacks the Norris name stamp. This detail creates a curious puzzle, because the patina matches the rest of the plane perfectly. Even so, if a craftsman replaced the knob, they executed the work flawlessly to match factory quality.
This plane offers a high-grade user tool or a standout display piece for collectors of fine English infill planes.
