The Record No.03 is the preferred smoothing plane for woodworkers with smaller hands or anyone working tight components. Slightly smaller and lighter than a standard No.4, it offers exceptional feedback and control for smoothing smaller boards.
This incredibly well looked after English-made example comes fitted with its original tungsten steel iron. It also has very crisp and nicely finished hardwood handles, the body has been repainted and and one cheek repaired.

Compact No.03 Size: Features an 9-inch body length paired with a 1 3/4-inch cutter for nimble, fatigue-free smoothing.
Original Record Tungsten Cutter: Includes a genuine Sheffield Best Crucible Cast Tungsten Steel iron with matching cap iron. Despite its age, the iron has very little wear – almost new.
Hardwood Tote and Knob: Fitted with original, dark hardwood handles in smooth, unbroken condition.
Made in England Casting: Solid English iron casting with crisp raised lettering along the bed.
Condition Note:
This plane shows an old, neat brazed repair on the right cheek which has been incredibly well done. The brass braze holds the casting tight and solid, allowing the plane to function without issue. The sole remains flat and clean, while all adjustment threads operate smoothly.
A solid, honest and cheap user tool ready for practical workshop duty or parts donation.
