Description
Stanley No.18 knuckle capped block plane in good condition. Adjustable mouth. Made in USA with matching iron which appears original, has plenty of life left in it and won’t take much to get bench ready. These are very popular planes as users and a personal favourite. Very comfortable in the hand and the iron is very easily removed for sharpening. A little bit of chrome plating loss on the knuckle.
Based on the logo on the blade this would be dated around 1909-1912, while the body is dated a little later in the production which started from 1913. All in all a nice plane that is over 110 years old.
Not an easy tool to find in Australia, particularly in this condition. Not perfect condition so would suit a user.
