This tool has been incorrectly fitted with a later Stanley 46-017 rule in place of the original rule. Despite not being original, the rule provides full functionality and locks securely. While it will not suit a collector, users will appreciate the modern replacement rule which provides sharp edges and highly legible metric scale.

Condition
Good vintage condition overall. The No.22 head is complete and retains its accurate and original dual-axis spirit level vials. The rule locking mechanism appears to function correctly and securely holds the rule in position. The rule fitted is a later Stanley 46-017 replacement rather than the original rule. General cosmetic wear, minor paint loss, handling marks and age-related patina are present in the head, consistent with age and use. This should be regarded primarily as a user ready tool.
