This Yankee No.1555 breast drill is being sold in parts due to some parts being broken or missing, ideal for restorers, machinists, and collectors seeking original components to complete or repair their own drills. The 1555 is one of the most complex and desirable Yankee drills ever made, and original parts are increasingly scarce. The drive type selector was seized and the grub screw holding the main shaft on the drill was missing. Otherwise, it is all in excellent condition. The drill is the one in the photographs.

Drive Shaft / Spindle
Original keyed drive shaft / spindle connecting the gearing to the chuck. Straight with signs of use, but no real damage or defects. We haven’t attempted to remove the retaining pin for the bearing cover, so the bearing cover is supplied with it.
Condition
A replacement part for anyone restoring a drill with a missing or damaged side handle.
