This No.540 hand drill is being sold in parts due to some parts being broken or missing, ideal for restorers, machinists, and collectors seeking original components to complete or repair their own drills. The No.540 hand drill is one of the most complex and desirable Yankee hand drills ever made, and original parts are increasingly scarce.  The chuck kept sticking and both bevelled drive wheels have missing teeth.  Otherwise, it is all in excellent condition.   Parts taken from the drill featured in the photographs.

Main Frame

Original main frame from Yankee No.540 hand drill.  Repainted black.  All threads and bearing surfaces in good condition.  Comes complete with grub screw to secure the drive shaft.

Good vintage condition, but refinished.
