Description
Believed to be a Preston No.1357 bullnosed block plane. No markings, but would have been made in England.
This lovely, taper-bodied plane has a beautiful hardwood infill (possibly ebony). We believe this to be the Preston due to its small size – just under 3 1/2″ in length, with a 1″ wide blade. The infill has been nicely done working around the original features of the sole. It provides a lovely weight to what would otherwise be a very light plane.
Not the original blade or levercap. These have been user crafted and could be thicker to get closer to the original spec.
A rare plane.
