Description
Vintage Record 405 multiplane combination plane in original box. This plane complete, including the box inserts, original screwdriver, book and even the unopened spur (knicker) envelope. The selection of blades is complete and in really good shape (all with original Record labels on them), but we haven’t cleaned or sharpened them so there is the odd rust spot, but nothing serious to do. There are 2 additional user made irons and two further blanks to allow you to produce your own profile – all are notched for the adjuster. The irons appear to have had very little wear.
The only faults we can see are that the original section divider that the blades box sits on is a fraction too short (maybe the box sides warped a little), the knob has some varnish missing in spots, the book has been folded and when we attempted to use the screwdriver the blade rotated in the handle a little.
Otherwise, this is an excellent example in near mint condition with the bonus of two extra blades and two blanks for your own profiles.
