Description
This is a small boxwood spokeshave. 10 1/2 inches long. Quite a delicate tool, with a blade length of 1 1/2″.
The mouth has a little too much wear and this tool would benefit from a mouth repair. This has a brand name on one arm, but we can’t make out any of it.
It also has a chip of wood out of the underside of the wood around the tool post, probably occurring when the blade has been withdrawn from the body. Doesn’t affect use, but it would annoy me and I would probably fix during the mouth repair. Blade has some rust and will require sharpening.
Nice boxwood spokeshave requiring some love. Restoration project for the skilled.
