Description
Early Stanley 54 spokeshave body with Preston blade. Body is probably made in USA as this is an early version, but is unmarked. Blade is Made in England. No. 54 are like No.53’s, but with flat handles and rarer. The Preston blade looks like someone ground it to fit. Good life left in the iron, about 10 mm of life left. Blade needs sharpening. But it’s in pretty good order, it won’t take a lot of work to get bench ready.
Sprung adjustable mouth similar to the Stanley number 53. It’s in pretty good order. Springs are present, but one appears to have suffered a little deformation, but it still works to open the mouth.
Body appears to have been repainted.
