Description
This Chamfer Plane is made out of a tiger patterned wood. Too dark for maple unless it’s stained, but it sure is beautiful. From the lovely figure in the body and fence to that gorgeous hand carved little wedge out of another hardwood. Such a great looking tool. It has been built using the saw and glue technique (Krenov style) rather than chiseling out the throat from solid stock.
We haven’t tested the function of this plane, so don’t know how effective it is. One of the prongs on the wedge may have been broken off or intentionally removed to prevent fouling the fence.
Unfortunately, the parallel iron which is just under 1 3/16″ is unmarked and is user-made.
