This is a fine vintage 1/4 inch swan-neck mortice chisel manufactured in Sheffield, England by Hale Brothers. Featuring a distinctive curved neck, swan-neck chisels are specifically designed to lever out waste timber and scrape the bottom of deep joinery mortises clean. Harder to find smaller mortice chisels at this size.
