Description
Well set-up Mathieson 17″ beech bench plane with matching Mathieson 2 1/8″ tapered iron with cap-iron. Solid handle. Sole has not been touched. Wedge fits snuggly and holds the iron tight. The toe of the blane has been struck mulltiple times with a mallet which has damaged some of the wood. Great vintage user. Don’t be taken in by the big brand hype. If you know how to set one of these tools up, sharpen and adjust the iron then they can be just as effective. The steel of these blades is awesome, but I wouldn’t expect the steel to stay as sharp for as long as the best modern tools.
This plane is bench ready.
