Description
Good honest and early Stanley Bailey No. 3 plane. Made in England with original matching iron. Usually we only find them this clean in a box. Beech woodwork has all its original varnish. Japanning is close to 100% as is the levercap chrome. Iron has almost its entire length present and is bench ready. The only real issue is that someone has ground the blade out of square so the lateral currently needs to be pushed to one side to get the iron square in the mouth and that really leaves only lateral adjustment in one direction. Many will want to regrind it, but you may be able to just use it and compensate for it in my sharpening over time.
Don’t buy new – this will out-perform any sub $200 new plane on the market.
This plane needs nothing. Just put it to work. Potentially a nice user.
