Description
Good honest and early Stanley Bailey No. 4 plane. Made in England with original matching iron. Beech woodwork has had its varnish removed and left with bare tun-oiled wood – some people prefer them this way as they do feel nicer in the hand – less sticky. Japanning is close to 100% as is the levercap chrome. Iron has plenty life in it and has been nicely prepared for the bench. Don’t buy new – this will out-perform any sub $200 new plane on the market.
This plane needs nothing. Just give the blade a quick hone and put it to work. Potentially a nice user.
