Description

This Danish wooden plane has an Eric Anton Berg iron and cap iron and an adjustable mouth adjusted via the screw on top of the plane.  The plane has an aluminium lever cap and a strike button at the rear.  I believe it’s stamped Paulcall Made in Denmark which means it was imported for sale in Sydney.  The ‘Paul’ part of Paulcall is difficult to read, the rest is clear.  The rear of the plane is stamped 51 which probably refers to the width of the blade in millimetres.

Body is made of some beautiful hardwoods laminated as is traditional from European horned planes.   The quality of the woods is born out by the weight of the tool which is just shy of a kilogram despite it’s relatively small size.

This tool has a sharp iron, but still needs tuning to be bench ready.

Age is difficult to determine, but Paulcall stopped trading in Sydney in the early 80s.
