Description
Mitutoyo 0-1″ Micrometer. Top quality tool, in good condition. The barrel moves smoothly, the ratchet stop and the lock all work as expected. The only fault is that when fully closed it’s not on zero, but rather nearly 2 thousands of an inch out (photographs are not set up to show this as the micrometer isn’t closed in these pictures). Might be a dirty or corroded spindle or anvil faces, but can’t see anything obvious. It does consistently produce the same result though and measures the same 2 thou out against our reference 1″ test piece. We expect that a gentle clean or polish of anvil and spindle faces will correct this. Otherwise a solid user.
