Really nice example of a Record 078 fillister rebate plane. Appears completely original. Made in England. It comes complete with everything (depth stop, fence and nicker). Blade has plenty of life in it. The plane has obviously been looked after, and has much of the original paint still in tact.
We haven’t touched the blade, which is pretty sharp and very clean, but it has been sharpened with a less than perfect technique. The edge is at a bit of an odd angle so it is not perfectly square to its edge and looks as though it has been sharpened by an electric grinder. Still operational, but its new owner may want to give that blade some love before putting it to work.
