Description

Long Marples 3/4″ inch firmer socket chisel.  Marked W. Marples and Sons, Sheffield with cloverleaf insignia.  33 1/2cm or just over 13″ long.

Don’t think this is the original handle, but they did an excellent job replacing it. Hardwood handle with leather cushioning. It’s obviously not new, and has stood up well to use.

Some blemishes on the steel due to micro-pitting could be cleaned and polished out.

Previously hollow ground by the looks of the bevel, but has since been hand sharpened. Slight skew needs correcting and sharpening. Very nice user for paring or mortice work.
