Description
Charles Taylor 7/8″ (22mm) heavy socket mortice chisel. Marked Charles Taylor, Sheffield Tools Ltd, Warranted Cast Steel with screw logo. Additional logo on the reverse. Can’t make it out, but it looks like ‘Solid Steel Socket Patent’. This is a nice chisel with a replacement handle, but original reinforcing ring. Ready to work. Sharp blade, but at some point someone has ground from the underside upwards which means there’s a little up sweep over the last ~20mm of the blade. Some minor pitting on the reverse side, but nothing significant. Chisel weighs in just over 400g. Great user chisel.
